Defense to Multi 2♦
At Second Seat
When opponent make a multi 2♦ opening, we assume mostly it is weak two opening
because weak two opening more often than strong opening.
The defensive bidding is as below
• Pass then DBL = pass at first then double at shown major for takeout (Response same
as opponent opened weak two)
• Double = Balanced hand with 13-15 hcp or 16⁺ hcp with any distribution.
• 2 and 2 = 5⁺cards in the suit bid and good opening bid values, NF
• 2NT = 16-18 hcp and a balanced hand, system on, not mention stopper
• 3NT = Game value with a running suit in minor.

• 3/ = 6 cards in the suit bid and good opening bid values, NF

• 3 = 6 cards in the suit bid and better than 2 overcall
+
• 3♠ = 6 cards in the suit bid and better than 2♠ overcall.
• 4 = Leaping Michael – 10-15 HCP, 5-5 clubs and majors
o 4 = ask for majors
• 4 = 5s
• 4♠ = 5s
• 4 = Leaping Michael – 10-15 HCP, 5-5 diamonds and majors
o 4 = ask for majors

Advancer bids
• Pass = 0-9 HCP, no 4-M
