Third Suit Forcing

After opener rebid suit showing 12-15 hcp, responder bid new suit called third suit forcing

Opener rebids

• 2♠ = 3 card support
• 2NT = stopper in unbid suit (♣)
• 3♦ = non above
• 3♥ = 4-♥ (may maximum)
Fourth Suit Forcing (FSF)
When 3 suit have been bid and responder make a simple bid of fourth suit, that call is
artificial which doesn’t promise any length in the fourth suit and forcing to game. In the
exception of XYZ convention such as 1-1-1-2; 1-1-1-2; etc.

The main objective of FSF is the avoiding in notrump games with unstopped suits so the bid
of FSF to find out the stopper in that suit.
Responder rebids 2NT or 3NT with stopper in the 4th suit or naturally without stopper
or raising the 4th suit with 4-card support.
